Abortion is completely banned in Mississippi due to a new law that has gone into effect. It is legal to travel out of state to get an abortion.
What is medication abortion?
Medication abortion is an FDA-approved method to end a pregnancy. Medication abortion consists of two medications: mifepristone and misoprostol. The medications are taken in two steps. Medication abortions are the primary method for ending pregnancies in the United States.
What is Self-Managed Abortion?
Self-managed abortion means ending your own pregnancy, without a doctor or other health care provider. Most people go to clinics to get abortion care, whether they need a medication abortion or an abortion procedure. But, for a variety of reasons, some people prefer to manage their own abortions. People sometimes utilize prescription medications (one is called mifepristone and the other is called misoprostol) to self-manage their abortion.
